Blue Duo plays acoustic blues and roots music on traditional instruments: Carl D's National Steel guitar and Alegria's handmade washboard. The deeply personal nature of the music and the beauty of acoustic sounds create an intimate atmosphere where musicians and audience can join in celebrating our shared love of traditional American music.
National steel guitar player Carl D began a lifetime of exploring the roots of American music after seeing BB King at the age of 19. Washboard player Alegría was raised in an artistic family of folk musicians and has been keeping time ever since. Together we believe in the power of the blues to turn grief to glory through emotionally honest music and healing rhythms.
